Job summary

Leonardo UK is seeking a Lead Systems Engineer / Specialist to lead the Mk0 Radar Modes team, developing algorithms for the Signal Processor and overseeing radar mode design, verification and validation across the lifecycle.

Based in Edinburgh with collaboration across EuroRADAR, you will mentor engineers, drive routemap plans, present results to stakeholders and ensure rigorous, timely delivery in a fast-paced export programme.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of radar principles and processing techniques, including detection theory.
• Ability to supervise a systems engineering team and build complex models and analysis tools.
• Experience performing data analysis on large datasets and automating processing where appropriate.
• Strong communication skills to present to stakeholders and influence decisions.
• Ability to balance rigour and speed in a fast-paced engineering environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Mk0 Radar Modes team and maintain routemap for development work.
• Oversee radar mode design, verification and validation activities.
• Plan trials (ground/flight) and analyse trial data for radar modes.
• Develop design solutions to address capability gaps.
• Present results and drive design updates through change control.
• Own configuration and maintenance of models and analysis tools.
