Racing Sub Editor

The Sun is the UK’s biggest-selling newspaper, with a Sport team which leads the way with the biggest exclusives, up-to-the-minute news stories, razor-sharp columnists, and must-read features.

The Super Sun Racing team is the best in the business, creating industry-leading content every day online and in print. We’re proud to break stories, provide up-to-the-minute news and produce the number one supplement, The Favourite, every Saturday and during all the big racing Festivals.

Your role:

Sub Editor for our print that will help drive new fans to the sport and enlighten seasoned followers. You will be a passionate, knowledgeable sub-editor eager to work within the racing team, also helping to design racing content and pullouts.

Day to day you will:
  1. Sub edit for accurate and concise content suitable for print and audiences.
  2. Proofreading and editing content for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and clarity.
  3. Fact-checking to ensure accuracy and credibility.
  4. Adhering to and upholding the publication’s style guide.
  5. Meeting tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

What we are looking for from you:
  1. Keen interest in horse racing.
  2. Excellent attention to detail.
  3. Ability to work to tight deadlines.
  4. Good writing skills.
  5. Ability to use In-Design a plus.
  6. Enthusiastic, sharp and bright.

Office based 1 day a week WHF.
