Job summary

The Jockey Club in Exeter is seeking a Cleaner to join the Operations team at our racecourse. You will maintain all areas before and after racing and conferences, ensuring spaces are ready for the next day’s events and providing a high standard of customer care.

The role requires 20 hours per week, including evenings and occasional weekends. We offer 25 days’ annual leave, pension and health benefits, and access to staff discounts and development resources.

Qualifications

• Experience in cleaning at a venue of similar size.
• Capable of following cleaning schedules and using standard equipment.
• Willing to work evenings, weekdays, and occasional weekends.
• Strong attention to detail and cleanliness standards.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain all areas of the racecourse.
• Ensure event spaces are clean, safe and presentable before race days.
• Assist with post-event breakdown and reset facilities.
• Monitor stock of cleaning supplies and report needs.
• Report faults and safety issues promptly.
• Follow Health & Safety regulations and waste/recycling protocols.
• Unlocking and closing the racecourse when required.
