Job Description

The Lola Yamaha ABT Formula E Team competes in the FIA Formula E World Championship, combining Lola Cars' motorsport heritage, Yamaha’s technology, and ABT Sportsline’s expertise.

We seek an experienced Race Engineer to lead the technical and strategic aspects of one of our cars. This role requires a motorsport engineer with a background in Formula E, WEC, LMDh, IndyCar, or Formula 2, who performs well under pressure and has a focus on performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead all technical and strategic decisions for one car.
  • Define setup using data analysis, simulations, and team input.
  • Make mid-event decisions based on data, driver feedback, and competitors.
  • Lead simulator and correlation efforts with analysis and recommendations.
  • Coordinate with mechanics and engineers.
  • Share responsibility for car legality with the Technical Coordinator.
  • Plan and execute simulator and on-track tests.
Candidate Profile
Required:
  • Minimum 3 years as a Race Engineer in top motorsport.
  • Deep understanding of vehicle dynamics and high-performance engineering.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills under pressure.
  • Good analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with motorsport data tools (preferably ATLAS).
  • Knowledge of simulation platforms like Canopy.
Nice to Have:
  • Programming skills (Python, MATLAB, VBA).
  • Experience in Formula E and energy management strategies.
Education & Background
  • Degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Electrical, or Motorsport Engineering.
