Job Description

The Lola Yamaha ABT Formula E Team competes in the FIA Formula E World Championship, combining Lola Cars' motorsport heritage, Yamaha’s technology, and ABT Sportsline's racing expertise.

We are seeking an experienced Race Engineer to lead the technical and strategic direction of one of our cars. This role requires a motorsport engineer with a background in Formula E, WEC, LMDh, IndyCar, or Formula 2, who thrives under pressure and focuses on performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead all technical and strategic aspects of one car.
  • Define setup based on data analysis, simulation, and performance input.
  • Make mid-event decisions using setup, driver feedback, and competitor data.
  • Lead simulator and correlation efforts with analysis and recommendations.
  • Coordinate communication among mechanics and engineers.
  • Share responsibility for car legality with the Technical Coordinator.
  • Plan and execute simulator and on-track tests.
Candidate Profile
Required:
  • Minimum 3 years as a Race Engineer in top motorsport.
  • Deep understanding of vehicle dynamics and high-performance engineering.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills under pressure.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with motorsport data tools (preferably ATLAS).
  • Knowledge of simulation platforms such as Canopy.
Nice to Have:
  • Programming skills (Python, MATLAB, VBA).
  • Experience in Formula E and energy management strategies.
Education & Background
  • Degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Electrical, or Motorsport Engineering or related field.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, team-oriented.
  • Effective communication of technical info across departments.
