Job Description

The Lola Yamaha ABT Formula E Team competes in the FIA Formula E World Championship, combining Lola Cars' motorsport heritage, Yamaha’s technology, and ABT Sportsline’s expertise.

We are seeking a Race Engineer to lead the technical and strategic aspects of one of our cars. This role requires an experienced motorsport engineer with a background in Formula E, WEC, LMDh, IndyCar, or Formula 2, who can work under pressure and deliver high performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all technical and strategic decisions for one vehicle.
• Define setup based on data analysis, simulations, and team input.
• Make mid-race decisions using targeted analysis of data, driver feedback, and competitors.
• Lead simulator and correlation efforts with detailed analysis and recommendations.
• Coordinate communication among mechanics and engineers.
• Ensure vehicle legality with the Technical Coordinator.
• Plan and execute simulator and on-track testing.

Candidate Profile

Required:

• Minimum 3 years as a Race Engineer in top-level motorsport.
• Deep understanding of vehicle dynamics and high-performance engineering.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills under pressure.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with motorsport data tools (preferably ATLAS).
• Experience with simulation platforms like Canopy.

Nice to Have:

• Programming skills (Python, MATLAB, VBA).
• Experience in Formula E and energy management strategies.

Education & Background

• Degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Electrical, or Motorsport Engineering.
