Your New Role

Southend City Council seeks to appoint an experienced Environmental Enforcement Officer. You will work as part of a team to ensure environmental issues, such as enforcement and highway inspections, are addressed across the City.

You will support community organisations to address local concerns, engage with the community, create multi-agency partnerships to combat enviro-crime, and develop preventative measures through creative thinking. You will also monitor and ensure equal access to services, crossing cultural and language barriers.

You will handle local environmental issues such as fly-tipping, littering, dog fouling, abandoned vehicles, and fly-posting through education, advice, and enforcement based on relevant legislation.

Note: You will be required to attend occasional evening meetings to meet business needs.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Effective communication with stakeholders at various levels is essential. A full and valid driving license is mandatory for your application to be considered.
