Job summary

University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust seeks a Deputy Director of Research & Innovation (Delivery) to provide strategic leadership for the Trust’s research portfolio. You will oversee across divisions, ensuring high standards of quality, performance, and regulatory compliance.

Leading a portfolio with significant activity and a turnover of tens of millions, you will drive NIHR-aligned delivery and build partnerships to embed research as core patient care.

Qualifications

• Professional knowledge acquired through a degree, supplemented by specialist training to doctorate or equivalent or equivalent level of experience.
• A management qualification (ILM, MBA, PGCert Leadership) or equivalent experience.
• Formal training in program or change management (PRINCE2 or MSP)

Responsibilities

• Deputise for the R&I Deputy Director and exercise autonomy in delivering the portfolio.
• Develop and manage SLAs with corporate support services and lead the data and performance assurance infrastructure.
• Oversight of day-to-day people and operational management of the Trust’s R&I functions.
• Ensure delivery of national commercial research activation standards and performance metrics.
