Job summary

EY is seeking a dedicated R&D Tax – Technology/Software Consultant to join its central London office. You will work within the Global Grants Credits & Incentives team, guiding clients from owner-managed businesses to multinationals on R&D tax relief claims while leading technical interviews and delivering clear, compelling reports.

You will analyse project expenditures, identify qualifying aspects, and communicate with clients regularly.

Qualifications

• A degree in computer science, information technology, software development, telecommunications engineering or a related discipline.
• At least one year of computer science or software development experience, gained through graduate study or, ideally, industry.
• Commitment to continuous learning, active contribution and rapid adaptation in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a collaborative working style.

Responsibilities

• Work as an effective member of a project team with strong communication and collabo­ration across skill sets.
• Write compelling technical project reports to highlight key technical factors of client projects for R&D tax claims.
• Interacts with clients' senior technical staff to understand projects and identify how they meet R&D guidelines.
• Undertake data analysis and calculation to quantify project expenditure.
• Apply advanced problem-solving and critical thinking to project execution and delivery.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients to provide high levels of service.
• Ensure high-quality delivery of advice and solutions to major clients, managing risk and reputation.
• Adapt knowledge to different sectors and expand core capabilities.
