Job summary

BDO UK is seeking a talented consultant for its Innovation & Technology Group, part of Corporate Tax. You’ll translate complex tech concepts into clear client guidance and work with software sector clients on R&D tax relief, RDAs, grants, and related reliefs.

You’ll join a diverse team of engineers, scientists and tax professionals, with opportunities to advance, mentor colleagues, and travel to client sites.

Qualifications

• A recognised university degree (MSc/MEng and/or PhD) in IT or Computer Software with relevant industry experience.
• Experience working with software clients or software-related R&D tax claims as an R&D tax practitioner.
• Experience addressing technological challenges such as software architecture, tooling and API development/improvement.
• Excellent communication skills, curiosity about science, technology and innovation.

Responsibilities

• Translate complex ideas into non-technical concepts for a broad client base.
• Interact with senior managers, directors and partners to shape delivery and opportunities.
• Contribute to tax planning and consultancy work across the Corporate Tax team.
