The opportunity

An exciting opportunity to work in EY’s Global Grants, Credits and Incentives team in the North. We are seeking a Manager and Senior Manager with experience in UK Incentive Schemes to support building our team and driving growth in the North market.

EY’s Global Grants, Credits and Incentives team comprises scientists, engineers, and tax and accounting professionals. We support a range of clients from owner-managed businesses to multinationals in claiming government incentives to encourage UK innovation.

The successful candidate will work as part of EY’s Business Tax Services group, collaborating with tax and industry specialists.

You will lead R&D tax engagements, work closely with engineers and finance & tax departments across sectors, ensure high-quality claims, and participate in client communication and report submissions to HMRC.

This role offers a clear progression path and a unique chance to advance your career within EY’s leading tax teams. You will also be encouraged to support business development opportunities.

Your key responsibilities:

• Manage delivery of R&D tax services
• Review technical reports for key project factors supporting R&D claims
• Support development of junior team members
• Build and maintain client relationships, providing excellent service
• Identify opportunities, manage client expectations, and contribute to business growth
• Handle day-to-day client communication
