Job summary

Dunwall is seeking an experienced R&D Tax Manager in Belfast to lead and grow a varied client portfolio within the Innovation Tax team. You will own end-to-end R&D tax claims, mentor junior staff, and build strong client relationships while keeping up-to-date with HMRC guidance.

You will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality claims, supporting business development, and ensuring deadlines are met across diverse sectors.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in R&D tax relief and HMRC compliance.
• Strong ability to write clear, accurate reports for clients and HMRC.
• Solid knowledge of current R&D tax legislation and HMRC guidance.
• Experience managing clients, workloads and deadlines.
• Experience mentoring or supervising junior team members.
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Commercial mindset with ability to support business development.
• Candidates with strong corporate tax backgrounds and R&D exposure also considered.

Location: Belfast. Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum, DOE. Contract: Full-time, Permanent.

The Opportunity

Dunwall Partners are working with a growing professional services business to recruit an experienced R&D Tax Manager to join their expanding Innovation Tax team.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of a varied client portfolio, lead and develop junior team members, and play a key role in delivering high-quality R&D Tax claims.

You’ll work directly with innovative businesses across a range of sectors, build strong client relationships and help them maximise the R&D Tax relief available to them.

What You’ll Do

• Manage a portfolio of R&D Tax clients from onboarding through to submission.

What We're Looking For

• Good knowledge of current R&D Tax legislation and HMRC requirements.

• Experience mentoring or managing junior team members.

• A commercial mindset and confidence supporting business development.
• Strong Corporate Tax candidates with solid R&D Tax experience will also be considered.
