Job summary

Pro-Tax in Reading seeks a senior R&D Tax Manager to lead complex R&D and Patent Box engagements for high‑profile clients, within the Innovation & Technology Group.

You will manage client portfolios end‑to‑end, review technical positions, mentor junior staff, and develop business opportunities while coordinating with senior tax, technical and client stakeholders.

This role offers clear progression within a growing specialist practice and exposure to cross‑border incentives across sectors.

Qualifications

• Degree-educated and CTA/ACA qualified (or equivalent) with post-qualification experience.
• Proven experience managing client portfolios and complex projects.
• Strong leadership, commercial awareness and client-handling skills.

Responsibilities

• Leading and reviewing R&D and Patent Box claims from planning through to submission
• Managing client relationships, billing, risk and quality control
• Project managing complex engagements and supporting HMRC enquiries
• Collaborating with senior tax, technical and client stakeholders
• Mentoring junior team members and developing future leaders
