Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of clients through the full R&D tax relief process, from inception to submission
• Organise and oversee workflow to ensure timely, accurate deliverables
• Deliver client-facing seminars (in person or virtual) on R&D record keeping
• Interview clients with junior staff to verify R&D criteria
• Ensure reports are of high quality before senior leadership review
• Handle HMRC enquiries professionally
• Support training and development of junior team members
• Contribute to business development within the team

The Opportunity

This is a brilliant opportunity for an experienced R&D tax professional who enjoys working closely with clients and wants a role with real variety.

You’ll manage a portfolio of innovative businesses through the full R&D tax relief process, from initial information gathering right through to submission, while also playing an active role in client engagement, staff development, and business development.

It's a role that suits someone who is technically sharp, confident in a client-facing environment, and passionate about helping businesses access the incentives they're entitled to.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of clients through the full R&D tax relief process, from inception through to submission
• Organise and oversee workflow to ensure jobs are completed accurately and on time
• Deliver client-facing educational seminars, either in person or virtually, to help businesses understand and improve their approach to R&D record keeping
• Interview clients alongside junior staff to ensure all R&D criteria are being met
• Ensure reports are completed to a high standard ahead of final review by senior leadership
• Handle HMRC enquiries as they arise, managing the process professionally and efficiently
• Support the training and development of junior team members
• Contribute to business development activity within the team

About You

• Demonstrable experience working with R&D tax relief, with a solid understanding of the relevant legislation and case law
• Excellent report writing skills, with a high standard of written communication
• Confident and professional in a client-facing environment
• Experienced working as part of a team, with some exposure to managing staff or workflows
• Highly organised, with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines across a busy portfolio
• Up to date with current HMRC requirements and developments in the R&D tax landscape
