KPMG's Incentives, Reliefs & Innovations team is made up of tax, engineering, science, and technology specialists delivering expert advice to clients across various industries. We are seeking an Assistant Manager with a strong IT background to assist with innovation advisory services including R&D tax credits, Patent Box, R&D Allowances, Grants, and Innovation Advisory services.

Role and Responsibilities:

  1. Develop technical approaches and deliver R&D tax relief claims for HMRC submission, managing the delivery of claims.
  2. Lead or co-lead meetings with senior IT technical and financial stakeholders, providing expert advice on innovation services.
  3. Write technical project reports supporting R&D tax claims, reviewing reports by junior colleagues.
  4. Prepare or oversee technical and financial deliverables, ensuring accurate documentation for HMRC or funding bodies.
  5. Manage client projects across tax and technical work streams, resolving resource conflicts.
  6. Lead projects, advise clients on complex legislation, and liaise with HMRC specialists.
  7. Build and maintain strong client relationships and internal networks within the firm.
  8. Ensure high-quality advice and risk management, coaching junior staff.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Honours/Postgraduate Degree in IT or related discipline.
