Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with senior colleagues within R&D, corporate tax, audit, and accounts teams.
  • Support client meetings and presentations, explaining our services.
  • Identify opportunities and participate in new business pitches.
  • Manage and deliver R&D tax projects with technical excellence and practical solutions.
  • Prepare documentation aligned with UK BEIS guidelines and CIRD manual, maintaining quality standards.
  • Create and edit technical descriptions for HMRC submissions.
  • Coordinate interviews with clients' technical and finance teams, advising on R&D tax relief.
  • Contribute to claim methodology development and prepare R&D tax relief claims.
  • Support engagements, including cost monitoring, billing, risk management, and client relationships.
  • Liaise with HMRC regarding R&D claims inquiries.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and deliver high service levels.
  • Build internal and external relationships to identify growth opportunities.
  • Keep teams and Partners informed about project issues.
  • Collaborate across disciplines to strengthen internal networks.

The role

We are seeking an experienced R&D Senior Manager to join our in-house R&D tax team. Our firm serves a diverse client portfolio across various sectors, offering opportunities to work on a wide range of R&D tax projects.

As a team member, you will work with senior staff to lead R&D claims, ensuring compliance with legislation and providing expertise to clients.

The team

Our R&D division is a close-knit part of our national Corporate Tax team, spanning 9 locations with 7 partners and over 100 professionals. We handle a large portfolio of clients, including manufacturing, technology, retail, recruitment, financial services, hospitality, property, and charities, ranging from small businesses to large listed groups.
