Job Description

Walker Cole International is working with a leading CDMO advancing pharmaceutical development through cutting-edge spray drying technology. Based at a state-of-the-art R&D pilot GMP facility, this is an excellent opportunity for an R&D Scientist to contribute to the scale-up and technology transfer of novel pharmaceutical products.

In this role as R&D Scientist, you’ll:

  • Lead the optimisation and scale-up of spray drying processes for APIs within a GMP pilot setting.

  • Act as technical lead on tech transfer projects, ensuring seamless transition from lab to kilo plant.

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including production, quality, and health & safety to support the introduction of new products.

  • Prepare and review technical documentation such as protocols, reports, and SOPs.

  • Offer scientific input into troubleshooting and process improvements across R&D and manufacturing.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

  • Experience with spray drying, ideally within an R&D or development setting.

  • A scientific background (BSc/MSc/PhD) in chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, chemical engineering, or a related field - or equivalent relevant experience.

  • Strong analytical thinking and the ability to work across multiple projects.

  • Familiarity with GMP requirements and working within cross-disciplinary teams.

  • Previous exposure to working with a Procept SD1 spray dryer is highly desirable.

If you’re looking to be part of a growing, innovation-driven team in a collaborative CDMO environment, and have a passion for process development and scale-up, please apply or get in touch.
