POSITION: R&D Scientist II / Analytical Development, Advanced Therapies, Functional Potency Method Development
LOCATION: Janssen, Malvern PA (100% On Site)
DURATION: Two Years
COMPENSATION:The hourly rate is a maximum range of $36.00 to $38.00. This will annualize to an estimated range of $72,000 to $76,000 based on 40 hour work weeks and 50 of 52 working weeks per year. OT is payable at 1.5X base rate and will add to the overall compensation based on actual hours worked.
JOB DESCRIPTION/EXPERIENCE:Scientist 2, Analytical Development, Advanced Therapies, Functional Potency Method Development
The Advanced Therapies, Functional Potency Method Development group is seeking an energetic, highly motivated scientist to support CAR-T cell therapies. The contactor will serve as a specialist in binding assay method development and assay validation.
Primary responsibilities:
• Plan and execute ELISA, AlphaLISA, luciferase reporter, and other plate-based assays
• Test samples across all CAR-T cell therapy programs
• Maintain healthy cultures of immortalized cell lines according to requirements
• Help keep a large inventory of reagent stocks maintained and well organized
• Maintain good electronic lab notebook (ELN) practices to ensure proper data documentation
• Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• The candidate is expected to work effectively in a team environment and well as contributing individually to meet project objectives and timelines.
Required:
• Master’s degree with at least 1-2+ years of experience or bachelor's degree with at least 3-4+ years’ experience in an appropriate scientific discipline (cell biology, immunology, biological science, or related field).
• Prior experience with immortalized cell culture (adherent and suspension cells)
• Prior experience with cell counting
• Prior experience running plate-based methods (e.g. ELISA, AlphaLISA, MSD, and luciferase reporter assays)
• Strong analytical problem solving, planning and organizational skills

• Hands-on experience with CAR-T or other cell and gene therapy products
• Experience with co-culture functional assays in immuno oncology
• Experience in analytical method development
• Experience in analytical method qualification and validation
• Experience with Kinexa and Biacore
• Experience with MSD
• Knowledge of ICH (Q2)R2 standards
Top Three Skills: Bachelor of Science, ELISA/AlphaLISA Experience, Cell Culture Experience
