Job summary

Colebrook Bosson Saunders in London seeks a hands-on R&D Workshop Technician/Design & Development Manager to turn concepts into functional prototypes and to design tools, jigs, and fixtures for rapid product development.

You will lead prototyping activities, work with design and engineering teams, and ensure buildable, high-quality parts while maintaining a safe, efficient workshop and supporting supplier coordination.

Qualifications

• Hands-on prototyping experience in workshop/manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

• Apply engineering principles to prototypes and collect design feedback.
• Lead prototyping, modelmaking, and fabrication of parts for R&D projects.
• Create CNC toolpaths and CAM programs to support prototype production.
• Design and build tools, jigs and fixtures to enable rapid concepts.
• Coordinate with Workshop Manager and suppliers for parts and samples.
• Ensure safe, compliant workshop operations and accurate documentation.
