Coppice is a market-leading international supplier of aluminium food packaging, known for its commitment to innovation, quality, and sustainability. As part of our continued growth, we are seeking a highly skilled and creative R&D Product Developer to join our Commercial Team.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for transforming customer and business briefs into innovative, commercially viable product and packaging solutions. You’ll manage the full product lifecycle—from concept through to execution—ensuring designs are functional, cost-effective, and aligned with market and sustainability trends.

Key Responsibilities

1. Create innovative product and packaging concepts based on customer and market needs
2. Enhance existing products for usability, quality, and sustainability
3. Conduct market research and trend analysis to inform design strategy
4. Develop prototypes and conduct user testing for design validation
5. Oversee the full product development process from concept to production
6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Sales, Marketing, and Design
7. Present and communicate design concepts to internal stakeholders
8. Integrate sustainable design principles into all development processes

Key Skills & Experience

1. Degree in Product Design, Industrial Design, or a related field
2. Proven experience in taking products from concept through to production
3. Skilled in CAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and prototype development
4. Strong understanding of sustainable design practices and eco-friendly materials
5. Ability to analyse market trends and apply insights to product development
6. Effective communicator with strong stakeholder presentation skills
7. Experience working cross-functionally with marketing, engineering, and production teams
8. Familiarity with industry regulations related to product safety and sustainability

Desirable:

1. Experience with SolidWorks
2. Knowledge of manufacturing processes and cost-effective design
3. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and business systems
