Job summary

Diageo is offering a 12-month R&D Pilot Plant Internship in Bishops Stortford, England, commencing on 1 July 2027. You must be currently enrolled in a STEM degree (ChemEng, Brewing & Distilling, Food Science, Chemistry or related).

The role includes owning a technical project, supporting sample production, and upholding GLP and safety standards. You will assist technicians with pilot plant operations, manage samples and inventories, and develop hands-on lab skills in a collaborative,

Qualifications

• Currently studying towards a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Brewing and Distilling, Food Science, Chemistry or related discipline.
• Practical laboratory experience.
• Willing to work hands-on in a pilot plant.
• Strong organisational and record-keeping skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of at least one technical project with support from the team.
• Support production of research samples from start to finish, including analysis and storage.
• Champion safe working practices and Good Laboratory Practice.
• Assist technicians with day-to-day pilot plant operations and stock management.
• Calibrate routine instruments and maintain accurate records.
