Job summary

Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board is seeking a proactive R&D Band 5 professional to support and strengthen research activity across services. The role is based at Royal Glamorgan Hospital in Llantrisant and offers flexible working with a 37.5-hour week.

You will provide specialist support to clinicians and external partners, helping deliver the R&D strategy and embedding high-quality research to improve patient care. A degree and governance knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Educated to degree level or equivalent demonstrable level of experience, skills and knowledge.
• Knowledge of Research legislation, GCP and UK Policy Framework for Health and Social Care Research and related legislation e.g. HTA, mental capacity act.
• Knowledge of clinical and research terminology.
• Knowledge of Ethical and HRA approval process.
• Certificate in ICH Good Clinical Practice.
• Knowledge of research design and methods.

Responsibilities

• The post holder will be integral to increasing the Health Board’s research activity across primary, secondary and social care as directed by the Assistant Director for R&D.
• Liaise with Welsh Government, Health and Care Research Wales, academic and industry partners and NHS organisations to facilitate studies.
• Support clinicians and external partners undertaking commercial and non-commercial research.
• Develop and deliver research studies across community sectors and ensure governance compliance.
