R&D Manager - Devon - up to £75,000 + 10% Bonus + Benefits - REF 1922

I am currently recruiting for an R&D Manager to work for a leading engineering organisation based in Devon. Salary up to £75,000 + 10% Bonus + Benefits.

The company are leaders within their field of expertise and are seen as the go-to organisation within their specialist product area, not only in the UK but internationally. They have multiple offices throughout the UK and strategically positioned worldwide. They have grown significantly over recent years through organic growth and acquisitions, strengthening their client offering and market position.

To support their growth, they now seek to appoint a permanent R&D Manager.

In this role, you will manage a team of 5 multidisciplinary engineers, overseeing the design and development of products from inception to manufacturing, ensuring standards compliance. Responsibilities include project planning, delegation, resource allocation, training, performance reviews, and appraisals.

Essential Requirements

• Experience as an R&D Manager, Engineering Manager, Technical Manager, Product Development Manager, or similar
• Experience managing people
• Proven track record of taking products from concept/design to manufacturing
• Experience working in the medical domain (ISO:13485, FDA, MDD, MDR, MDSAP)
• Experience with plastic injection moulding, blow moulding, compression moulding, rotational moulding, or plastic extrusion manufacturing processes
• Knowledge of DFM (Design for Manufacture) and/or DFA (Design for Assembly)
