Job summary

CooperVision Limited in Chandlers Ford, Hampshire, UK, is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to deliver reactive and preventative maintenance for the R&D Pilot Line, maximise equipment availability, and support new equipment installation and qualification.

You'll drive improvements, maintain GMP-compliant service records, contribute to cross-functional projects, and provide training to team members while ensuring safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship in Mechanical; Electrical/Electronic engineering is essential.
• ONC/HNC or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
• Demonstrable process support in a high-speed manufacturing environment.
• Experience with engineering principles and techniques.

Responsibilities

• Provide reactive and preventative maintenance for R&D Pilot Line equipment.
• Generate and assess KPIs and trend analysis (e.g., OEE).
• Carry out planned maintenance and manage spares inventory.
• Establish maintenance procedures and safety checks, calibrate machines.
• Create service records in GMP-compliant systems.
• Diagnose equipment via PLC interrogation and resolve issues.
• Support installation and qualification of new equipment.
• Participate in design/modification of equipment and cross-functional teams.
• Identify process improvements to maximise equipment availability.
• Provide training to team members and promote best practices.
