Job summary

Sun Chemical, a global leader in packaging and display innovations, is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join our Research & Development team in Midsomer Norton.

You will develop new products for Electronic Materials, establish testing protocols, maintain equipment SOPs and work with customers to advance product development.

The role requires practical lab experience, GCSEs in science, and a can-do attitude; Sun offers pension, 26 days holiday, and training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Practical working knowledge in a formulating lab environment; job-specific training provided.
• Minimum 5 GCSEs (A*-C / 4+) with science emphasis; A Levels in Chemistry/Biology/Physics or related discipline; degree in science preferable but not essential.
• Competent in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word).
• Ability to devise test methods, analyze results and communicate them professionally.
• Strong team player with ownership and initiative.
• Ambitious and willing to learn; can-do attitude.

Responsibilities

• Develop new products for Electronic Materials aligned with company strategy.
• Develop and maintain application testing protocols; SOPs for equipment.
• Daily tasks in the laboratory as required.
• Product development and formulation research.
• Interact with customers to advance product development in PCB and Electronic Materials.
• Apply scientific knowledge to solve problems.
• Provide project progress updates to project leaders.
• Provide technical and customer service support when needed.
• Ensure product compliance.
• Uphold safety commitments.
