Job summary

Found Food & Drink is seeking an R&D Food Scientist to join its Innovation team in Kent. This hands-on role focuses on turning concepts into bench and pilot-scale trials and, ultimately, into commercial manufacture.

You’ll work with ingredients and processing parameters, troubleshoot issues and refine formulations to deliver consistent quality. A degree in Food Science or Food Technology and prior product development experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in food product development and R&D.
• Experience taking products from development through to commercial manufacture.
• Strong understanding of ingredient functionality and processing effects.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimise food formulations and recipes through hands-on bench and pilot-scale development.
• Take recipes and concepts from development through trials, scale-up and commercial manufacture.
• Plan and carry out practical development work in kitchen, lab, pilot plant or factory; evaluate products.
• Run pilot-plant trials to understand processing under different conditions.
• Support factory trials and scale-up to manufacturing; resolve issues.
• Maintain accurate records of recipes, formulations and trials.
