The Role
- Engineering R&D, including measuring, recording, analysing, and reporting experiments on prototype systems.
- Maintain an organised and efficient engineering laboratory for experimental development of products.
- Develop and set up new production lines once prototypes are approved.
- Familiarity with assembly, installation, control, and troubleshooting of existing products.
- Support the engineering design team with assembly, testing, and problem-solving for new products.
- Operate and maintain research lab equipment and associated software.
- Conduct experiments to assess technical performance and reliability.
- Record experimental data in an online laboratory notebook and maintain it.
- Analyze data using Excel and report findings to management and customers.
- Occasional site visits and foreign travel may be required.
The Candidate
- Degree in an engineering discipline (essential).
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word (essential).
- Previous experience in a similar role (essential).
Required Skills and Experience
- Proficiency in MS Excel and Word; knowledge of AutoCAD is advantageous.
- Ability to analyze results and communicate findings effectively.
- Problem-solving and innovative thinking skills.
- Self-motivated, organised, and effective team player.
- Experience in electrical/mechanical assembly, understanding of engineering standards, manufacturing principles, and basic health and safety awareness are advantageous.
The Package
The salary range is from £30,000 to £40,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and abilities.
