Job summary

ABB Installation Products Division seeks a senior Mechanical Engineering Leader to steer the ELIP EMEA design competency. You will guide roadmaps, set standards, and coordinate cross-functional teams across markets to deliver robust mechanical solutions.

You will lead resource planning, succession, and skill development while collaborating with Product Management, Sales and external partners to align development with market needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or related field.
• 10+ years in mechanical product development within industrial/electrical sectors.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes including injection moulding, extrusion, machining, casting and forging.
• Experience leading engineering teams and engaging cross-functional stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Mechanical Design competency strategy and roadmaps for ELIP EMEA.
• Develop and lead mechanical engineering teams with succession planning.
• Drive mechanical product development for conduits, fittings, enclosures, cable management, lighting/earthing accessories.
• Own technical reviews, design readiness and prototyping approvals.
• Manage Coleshill Mechanical Laboratory, accreditation and testing roadmaps.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Sales, Operations and partners.
• Drive innovation, cost reduction, and technology roadmaps.
• Provide technical leadership for complex design challenges and CI.
