Job summary

Lloyd's Register's Naval team in Portsmouth is seeking an experienced maritime professional to lead QEC project area activities, coordinating certification surveys, repairs and alterations for QE Class carriers and Type 45 destroyers.

You will plan certification activities, provide specialist advisory support to the client and attend meetings with prime contractors. UK SV security clearance is required to work at HMNB Portsmouth.

We are looking for an experienced maritime professional to join the LR Naval team at HMNB Portsmouth, supporting the delivery of classification services for QE Class Aircraft Carriers, Type 45 Destroyers, and other naval vessels. This position brings together surveying skills, project coordination, and client interaction. You will work closely with the client’s COM teams, providing trusted advice on classification surveys, repairs, and alterations while helping to plan and coordinate certification activities. The ideal candidate will be at ease in a waterfront environment, able to cultivate productive relationships with clients and contractors, and focused on ongoing improvement. You also need to be eligible for UK security clearance and able to work within HMNB Portsmouth.
