Job summary

ASCO Workforce Solutions is seeking Banksman Slingers (OPITO Stage 1-4) to support quayside operations in Peterhead on an ad hoc basis. The role involves assisting with cargo handling, vessel loading/unloading, and berthing duties in a safety-focused environment.

Candidates should have OPITO Banksman & Slinger Stage 1-4 certification, experience in a quayside/marine setting, and a strong commitment to HSSEQ standards. Flexibility for ad hoc shifts is essential.

Qualifications

• OPITO Banksman & Slinger Stage 1-4 required.
• Experience in a quayside, marine, offshore or cargo-handling environment.
• Strong commitment to health, safety and operational standards.
• Ability to work flexibly on an ad hoc basis.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day quayside operations, including cargo handling and vessel loading/unloading, in line with operating procedures and HSSEQ standards.
• Safely load and offload CCUs from vehicles using forklift equipment where required.
• Assist with the safe berthing of vessels across the Peterhead quayside.
• Coordinate and control the safe and efficient loading and offloading of vessels.
• Support crane lifting operations and the movement of cargo to ensure vessels are turned around efficiently and in line with operational plans.
• Liaise with the Quayside Supervisor and promptly communicate any issues, delays or operational concerns.
