Job summary

Berkshire Talent Partnership is seeking a skilled Fitter for Les Vardes Quarry in Guernsey. You will maintain and repair on-site plant and equipment, responding to breakdowns and conducting daily inspections to keep operations running smoothly.

Reporting to the Fixed Plant Maintenance Manager, you will develop safe working practices, maintain high housekeeping standards, and collaborate closely with site management to ensure equipment reliability and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Fitter; on-site maintenance in plant environments.
• Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems is essential.
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings is required.
• Ability to plan and deliver maintenance schedules with safety in mind.
• Understanding of Health & Safety regulations is essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned maintenance and repairs on site plant and equipment.
• Respond quickly and flexibly to breakdowns.
• Complete daily plant inspections.
• Monitor and log all breakdowns and stoppages.
• Complete and follow all safety documentation.
• Help develop safe working practices.
• Keep a high standard of housekeeping and look after plant assets.
• Work closely with site management.
