Job summary

Hills Quarry Products seeks an experienced Quarry Manager to lead the Mortimer operation, ensuring safe production, regulatory compliance and team development. The role offers a competitive salary, car allowance, and a strong benefits package within a long-established Hills Group company.

You will oversee extraction, processing and despatch, drive continuous improvement and maintain cost controls while upholding health and safety standards across the site.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent practical experience in Quarry Management, Mining Engineering, Geology, or related discipline.
• Proven leadership within quarrying, mining, aggregates or extractive industries.
• Strong knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation relevant to quarrying.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with data-driven decisions.
• Commercial awareness with experience managing budgets and costs.

Responsibilities

• Lead the safe, efficient and compliant operation of the quarry to meet production and customer targets.
• Manage site performance, budgets and costs to deliver operational excellence.
• Oversee extraction, processing, stock management and despatch activities to maximise productivity and quality.
• Champion health, safety and environmental culture and ensure legal compliance.
• Monitor and report on operational performance and identify efficiency improvements.
• Lead, coach and develop the site team to build a high-performing workforce.
