Job summary

Riverlane in Cambridge, UK, is hiring a Software Engineer to help shape Deltakit, our open-source platform for building and interpreting QEC experiments. You will translate cutting-edge ideas into robust software and collaborate with researchers to broaden adoption.

You’ll work at the intersection of research and engineering, delivering practical, scalable solutions while engaging with a growing technical community and contributing to a fast-moving field.

Qualifications

• Curious, fast learner with an interest in quantum computing and complex technical problems.
• Strong technical foundation (CS, maths or physics).
• Proficient in Python, with experience building efficient, high-quality software.
• Clear communicator, comfortable engaging with users and colleagues.
• Interest in open-source and user-focused software development.

Responsibilities

• Build parts of both internal and external software stack for error-corrected quantum computing systems.
• Design and build quantum software productivity tools to represent and debug quantum programs.
• Design and implement parts of the QEC compiler stack when needed.
• Work closely with scientists and engineers to implement practical, scalable solutions.
• Write correct and maintainable code and actively participate in the Deltakit community.
