Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a researcher to support design, simulation and characterization of quantum devices in Reading. The role involves preparing cryogenic hardware and infrastructure, conducting experiments, and analyzing data with Python to drive performance improvements.

You will work with Quantum Engineers to advance research projects, document results, and contribute to ongoing experimental programs while developing expertise in quantum engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant physics/engineering/materials field.
• Experience contributing to scientific or engineering research projects.
• Hands-on experience with laboratory/engineering equipment.
• Python or similar language for automation and data analysis.
• Experience analyzing data and communicating findings clearly.

Responsibilities

• Support design, simulation and characterization of quantum devices.
• Prepare and calibrate quantum hardware and cryogenic systems for experiments.
• Conduct experiments and analyze measurement data to identify improvements.
• Present findings and recommendations to engineering teams.
• Maintain project documentation and research records.
