As part of your role, you will work with diverse clients, including client organisations, contractors, and subcontractors across the construction industry. You will gain exposure to claims negotiation on live projects and participate in dispute resolution processes such as adjudication.
Responsibilities and Duties
- This is a consultant role reporting directly to the Directors. The successful candidate should manage clients' daily requirements regarding contract administration, claims, and adjudication. Key duties include:
- Assist in preparing claims for loss, expense, and contractual entitlements
- Support the preparation of adjudication documentation
- Conduct quantum forensic analysis of tender, contract, and claims documentation
- Draft reports outlining processes, conclusions, and recommendations
- Knowledge of Standard Forms of Contract (JCT/NEC/FIDIC)
- Provide strategic advice throughout the construction lifecycle
- Manage cash flow proactively
- Contribute to business development efforts
Desired Skills and Experience
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management, preferably with a major contractor or subcontractor
- Familiarity with claims and dispute proceedings; experience in adjudication is a plus
- Good knowledge of contracts such as NEC, JCT, and FIDIC
- Strong report writing skills with evidence of prior reports
- Excellent written and spoken English
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
- At least 5 years of postgraduate experience
- A degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related field
- Attainment or pursuit of MRICS status is highly desirable
- Interest in pursuing a Construction Law MSc or Postgraduate Diploma
