A leading company seeks a skilled Quantity Surveyor for a major water infrastructure project. This position involves managing project costs and delivering commercial support throughout the project lifecycle, requiring proven civil engineering experience in the water sector and strong knowledge of NEC contracts.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor on civils projects.
  • Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts (preferably NEC3/4).
  • Chartered status with RICS or working towards it - optional.

About the Role:

We are currently seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor with strong civils experience to join our team on a major water infrastructure project. The ideal candidate will have proven expertise working on civil engineering projects within the water sector and demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the NEC suite of contracts.

You will play a key role in managing project costs, ensuring value for money, and delivering high-quality commercial support across the full project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Manage the commercial aspects of a water infrastructure project.
  2. Prepare and manage cost plans, forecasts, and reports.
  3. Administer and manage contracts in line with NEC (New Engineering Contract) standards.
  4. Liaise with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure contractual compliance and cost control.
  5. Assess subcontractor applications and variations.
  6. Support the project delivery team with risk management and procurement strategies.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor on civils projects, ideally within the water or utilities sector.
  • Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts (preferably NEC3/4).
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
  • Chartered status with RICS or working towards it - optional.
