Job summary

Markey Construction is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to drive commercial performance across a diverse project portfolio. You will work with project teams to maximise value, control costs and deliver profitable outcomes for multiple schemes.

Ideal candidates will bring proven QS experience, strong understanding of contracts, and proficiency with cost-estimating tools such as Causeway. A UK driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience working in Quantity Surveying within the construction industry.
• Experience using cost-estimating software and commercial management tools (e.g. Causeway).
• A strong understanding of construction contracts, procurement processes and cost management.
• A comprehensive understanding of construction drawings across a variety of sectors.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• The ability to manage conflicting priorities and meet deadlines.
• A valid UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyse cost estimates, budgets, and cash flow forecasts for construction projects.
• Conduct feasibility studies, cost control, and value engineering exercises.
• Manage procurement activities, including tender preparation, tender evaluation, contract negotiation, and contract award.
• Monitor project costs and financial performance, ensuring alignment with approved budgets and programme requirements.
• Prepare interim valuations and final accounts.
• Provide commercial and cost management advice to clients, contractors, and project teams.
• Maintain accurate project records, documentation, and financial reporting.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations industry standards and company procedures.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiencies, and project outcomes.
