Quantity Surveyor - Tier 1 Main Contractor

Our client, a well-established international main contractor, is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their team for a significant £30m refurbishment scheme in Cardiff.

The project is part of a wider regeneration development scheme and is delivered on behalf of a respected housing association.

This role offers an opportunity to join a company renowned for delivering complex and innovative projects across the UK and globally.

The Role

You will be responsible for the financial management of the project, reporting to a Senior QS or Commercial Manager, working closely with the team and client to manage costs, valuations, and variations, while maintaining good relationships with subcontractors and consultants.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage commercial and contractual aspects of the project
• Prepare interim valuations and agree final accounts
• Monitor cost control and forecasting
• Procure and manage subcontract packages
• Support and mentor junior team members
• Collaborate with the project team to ensure timely and profitable delivery

Requirements

• Experience with a main contractor on residential or commercial projects, or with a reputable facades/cladding specialist contractor
• Strong knowledge of post-contract commercial management
• Ability to produce accurate cost reports and forecasts
• Capacity to manage multiple workstreams with attention to detail
