Job summary

Building Careers UK is seeking a Quantity Surveyor for social housing refurbishment projects in Rochdale, England. You will manage commercial performance, forecasts, valuations and final accounts across refurbishment programmes, working closely with site teams and clients.

The role requires experience as a Quantity Surveyor in construction, with desirable social housing refurbishment exposure and strong cost control, forecasting, and procurement skills.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within construction.
• Social housing refurbishment experience is highly desirable.
• Experience managing subcontractor accounts and procurement.
• Good understanding of construction contracts.
• Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
• Relevant Quantity Surveying or construction qualification.

Responsibilities

• Managing the commercial performance of allocated refurbishment projects.
• Preparing and monitoring CVRs, forecasts, and cost reports.
• Managing subcontract procurement and subcontractor accounts.
• Preparing valuations, applications for payment, variations, and final accounts.
• Monitoring project costs and identifying commercial risks and opportunities.
• Working closely with Contracts Managers, Project Managers and site teams.
• Reviewing contractual requirements and ensuring commercial compliance.
• Maintaining accurate commercial records and reporting.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and supply chain partners.
• Supporting the successful delivery of social housing refurbishment programmes.
