Job summary

Energy Jobline CVL is recruiting a Quantity Surveyor in Birmingham to manage commercial aspects of social housing refurbishment projects. You will oversee budgets, valuations, variations and final accounts, while coordinating with project managers, site teams, clients and supply chain.

The role requires strong experience in social housing refurbishment, Decent Homes programmes, and procurement of subcontractors, with excellent communication and IT/Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Prev. Quantity Surveying experience in social housing/refurbishment.
• Experience with Decent Homes programmes preferred.
• Experience on void and tenanted properties desirable.
• Strong IT and Excel skills.
• Good commercial and contractual knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Manage commercial performance of social housing refurbishment projects.
• Oversee budgets, valuations, variations, payments and final accounts.
• Direct subcontractor procurement, accounts and payments.
• Prepare valuations and applications for payment.
• Monitor project costs, forecasts and cash flow.
• Value changes and ensure they are agreed.
• Produce regular commercial reports and cost/value reconciliations.
• Collaborate with operations to keep projects commercially controlled.
• Liaise with clients and housing associations on commercial matters.
• Support final account preparation and agreement.
• Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities.
