AtkinsRéalis in the West Midlands, UK, is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead pre- and post-contract QS activities. You will collaborate with client teams, manage costs, and provide financial reporting and risk updates to ensure project success.

You will support procurement, administer contracts and maintain records while mentoring junior staff across education, commercial, industrial, retail and aviation projects in the broader UK.

Qualifications

• BSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
• Chartered status with RICS preferred.
• Experience in pre- and post-contract QS duties.
• Experience with JCT/NEC contracts.
• Understanding of measurement methods (NRM).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with client teams and leadership, project managers, contractors and internal teams.
• Validate and manage contractor and supplier costs & payments.
• Provide regular financial reports and risk updates for clients.
• Undertake procurement or support procurement teams in evaluating contractors.

We are looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor who will be responsible for delivering work that's driven by excellence as well as doing the right thing. We are seeking a personable, ambitious, enthusiastic, and energetic Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our established Cost and Commercial Practice in the West Midlands, to support our continuing growth within the local market. As senior member of the team, you'll work closely with delivery teams to ensure commercial targets are met, risks are managed, and project controls are maintained. You will be working on a variety of education, commercial, industrial, retail and aviation projects to name only a few, primarily in the West Midlands but also the wider UK.

Your role

We are looking for a well-rounded Senior Quantity Surveyor with Pre and Post Contract experience.

• Collaboration – Working with client teams and liaising with leadership, project managers, contractors, and internal teams to maintain strong relationships.
• Cost Management – Validate and manage contractor and supplier costs & payments.
• Reporting – Provide regular financial reports to ensure our clients have confidence in their project outcomes. Present financial performance and risk updates.
• Procurement – Undertaking procurement or supporting procurement teams in evaluating and appointing contractors.
• Contract Administration – Administer various contract types, ensuring compliance with all terms and conditions. Manage contract change reviewing validity, quotations and ensuring timely submissions and agreement.
• Work closely Project Managers to maintain accurate and comprehensive project records.
• Risk and Value Management – Identify, analyse, and mitigate commercial risks. Assist in value engineering to optimise project performance.
• Support and manage junior staff in the delivery of quantity surveying services.

About you

• BSc in Quantity Surveying or similar.
• Ideally a Chartered member of the RICS.
• Conversant in pre and post contract Quantity Surveying duties.
• JCT, NEC contract experience.
• Understanding of methods of measurement (NRM).
