Job Title: Senior Cost Manager

Location: Chelmsford

Salary: GBP44,000 - GBP55,000

Job type: Full Time / Part Time (minimum 30 hours / week)

About Us:

Oxbury is a professional practice of Chartered Surveyors recruiting for a Senior Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Chelmsford.

About the role:

The role will include providing services on a range of exciting and innovative projects including zero carbon, Passivhaus and modular construction, residential and mixed-use schemes. Working with both the residential and commercial teams, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of several projects. This includes responsibility for preparing cost estimates and plans as well as early advice on financial viability; providing contract / procurement advice and administration, including drafting procurement documents; carrying out valuations and identifying value engineering opportunities; and monthly cost reporting including agreeing cost for variations and final accounts.

You'll work as part of an Associate Director-led team with appropriate administrative and technical support and you'll be responsible for assisting with the training and supervising more junior members of the team.

Contracts range in size from GBP50k to over GBP100m in value.

About you:

  1. You'll need to be RICS (or equivalent) professionally qualified (or nearing qualification) and have experience of cost management and reporting with a private practice or consultancy.
  2. You'll be able to demonstrate your skills in traditional, design and build and contract administration, as well as budget and project reporting.
  3. You'll have experience of providing early advice and liaison with clients. If you are also professional, diplomatic and client focused then you could be just who we are looking for.
