Job description

Quantity Surveyor - Rail - North West - Permanent

Quantity Surveyor currently required to join a large rail and civil engineering contractor based in the North West. The works are varied, but will mainly consist of civil engineering works in a railway environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in rail projects including structure replacements, platform extension works, drainage works and other associated civils works.

Requirements:

  • Degree qualified, within commercial Management, Quantity Surveying or associated subject
  • Minimum of 3 years post-qualified experience with a civil or rail contractor
  • Able to demonstrate a good understand of all commercial requirements in relation to delivering large civil engineering projects
  • Good understanding of multi-disciplinary railway projects, collating data from various sources
  • Excellent understanding of NEC forms of contract

The role will involve:

  • Day-to-day commercial management of a number of railway/civil engineering projects
  • Ensuring all commercial reporting is undertaken in a timely manner
  • Assisting with pricing, take-off's, tender documentation where required
  • Producing CVR's and application's for payments
  • Preparing final accounts
