What’s it all about?

Operating a £20M turnover business, they have several offices across the SW region, with a significant portion of work based in Devon. They typically deliver projects ranging from £100,000 to £10m, including small earthwork projects, highways, or rail jobs.

The Role

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for delivering various rail projects as part of a wider Framework – a 5-year Framework worth over £150M.

You will take full ownership and be commercially responsible from take-off through to Final Account.

Other duties include:

  • Maintaining the timely submission of applications and final accounts, ensuring adequate representation of commercial interests at site meetings.
  • Reviewing and commenting on tender documentation during the tender period, and assisting with internal reporting and forecasting upon successful handover.
  • Managing subcontractors, including negotiation, preparation of sub-contract orders, on-site management, and final accounting.
  • Preparing and negotiating claims in conjunction with senior management.
  • Vetting final accounts and preparing final account reports.

What you need?

Ideally, you will be a Quantity Surveyor experienced in delivering rail projects of similar value. You should be commercially astute, familiar with NEC contracts, and capable of working autonomously.

In return, this company offers competitive salaries, excellent packages, job security, and project variety.
