Quantity Surveyor Project Manager

Contract Length: 3 months

Our client is seeking to add to their Housing Assets and Development team within the Directorate of Housing & Communities for an experienced and proactive Quantity Surveyor / Project Manager to support their busy and dynamic service team.
This role places a strong emphasis on procurement and pre-contract activities, while also providing essential commercial and contractual support to the broader Housing team, including Housing Maintenance services.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver Quantity Surveying and Project Management services within the housing department, including:
Collation and production of tender documentation
Oversight of payments and cost control
Post-contract progress and performance monitoring
Manage building works involving:
Principal Contractors on large-scale capital improvement schemes
Single-trade and multi-disciplinary contractors procured via frameworks, fixed-price, term, and supply contracts
Support trade union and workforce engagement on productivity and target-setting
Provide contractual and commercial surveying services for:
Development, construction, property, and facilities maintenance projects
Prepare tender and contract documentation for:
Major construction, development, refurbishment, repair, and/or maintenance projects
Including accurate quantities, price schedules, specifications, and drawings
Evaluate tenders and recommend acceptance of the most economically advantageous bid(s)
Experience and Skills Required:
Proven project management experience in a multidisciplinary construction/property management environment
Demonstrated pre- and post-contract quantity surveying expertise in professional construction or property settings
Strong knowledge of construction and property law and contractual practices, particularly with standard forms of building contract
Familiarity with repairs, maintenance, and property management legislation
Experience with Term Contracts (JCT MTC 2016) and the National Federation Schedule of Rates is desirable
Knowledge of framework agreements, call-off procedures, and experience within a local authority setting is beneficial
Qualifications:
A Level 5 qualification (or equivalent) in:
Built Environment
Surveying / Construction
Financial / Commercial ManagementOR
Extensive proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor
