Job summary

NG Bailey Group is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team on a Sheffield or Leeds based project. The role suits someone with MEP/building services experience and is open to Senior Quantity Surveyor level.

You will manage commercial aspects, payment applications, and variations to maximise profitability. Working closely with the commercial manager, you will maintain records, report progress, and ensure contractual compliance across the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Experience in MEP/building services or main build construction.
• Quantity Surveyor level experience desirable.
• Relevant BSc/degree or equivalent desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide commercial support to the project and maximise profitability.
• Prepare, submit applications for payment with substantiation of compensation or variations.
• Manage sub contract accounts through to final account settlement.
• Monitor progress and provide accurate internal reporting.
• Ensure compliance with contract terms and risk management.

Summary

We have an exciting new opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team working on a project in Sheffield or Leeds. Ideally we would be looking for MEP/building services experience, and we are also open to considering Senior Quantity Surveyor level.

Working closely with our commercial manager and team, you will provide commercial support to the project, maintaining and maximising the profitability through timely requests for payment, minimising sub contract costs, agreement of variations and accurate reporting.

This is a permanent staff position with NG Bailey.

Some of the key deliverables in this role will include:

• Ensure that our safety first and foremost message is visible and alive through all activities on the project
• Ensure the use of, and compliance to, legal and company policies and processes in line with contractual obligations
• Understand project contract terms, manage risks and opportunities, ensuring they are commercially mitigated or enhanced. Identify any changes in line with NG Bailey’s contractual obligations
• Maintain all records in order to maximise contractual entitlements
• Communicate with the operational teams on risk and contract terms and conditions, and have a continual understanding of project status
• Prepare, submit applications, and secure recovery of payment, with substantiation of compensation or variations
• With support, manage sub contract accounts through to final account settlement
• Monitor and control progress with the operational team, providing accurate internal reporting
• Ensure availability of all project reports, applications, certificates, payments, timeliness and quality of delivery, and tender allowances.
• With support, negotiate to settle the project account with the client

What we’re looking for

Ideally we are looking for someone with MEP/Building services, or main build construction experience, previously with experience at Quantity Surveyor level.

We are also open to considering Senior Quantity Surveyor level.

Relevant BSC/degree or equivalent is desirable
