Job summary

Kitson Associates in Northamptonshire is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to take commercial ownership of two live developments, with a potential third site starting up or finishing off. You will prepare and manage site budgets, cost plans and cost-to-complete forecasts, value subcontractor work, process monthly valuations and agree final accounts, and support the Procurement Manager with tendering and subcontractor awards.

Regular site visits are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years' quantity surveying experience with a UK housebuilder.
• Ability to manage multiple trades, subcontractors and deadlines.
• Commercially minded with sound judgement on cost and value.

Responsibilities

• Take commercial ownership of two live developments (possible third) and manage site budgets.
• Prepare and manage cost plans, budgets, and cost-to-complete forecasts.
• Value subcontractor work, process monthly valuations and agree final accounts.
• Support procurement with tendering, subcontractor selection and award of packages.
• Manage variations, contra charges and disputes with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Produce monthly cost reports and commercial reviews for the Commercial Manager.
• Visit sites regularly to measure progress and build relationships with site teams.
• Keep commercial records up to date in company systems.
