Quantity Surveyor Reputable Civils Company Location: East Midlands Salary: Up to GBP55,000 + Car Allowance depending on experience

Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor looking to join a growing, forward-thinking company?
I m representing a well-established and reputable rail company set to double in size over the next two years. Historically specialising in rail, they are now expanding into other sectors, working with a diverse client portfolio.

The Role
I m looking for a proactive and personable Quantity Surveyor to join the team. You ll be working closely with our project management team, ensuring commercial processes are in place and effectively managing live projects or pre-implementation phases.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Contract Management: Handling NEC contracts.
  • Project Involvement: Supporting projects such as platform work, depot maintenance, wall repairs, embankment repairs, and culvert works.
  • Client & Stakeholder Engagement: Building strong relationships with clients and project teams sometimes over a cup of tea and biscuits!
  • Cost & Financial Control: Measuring all works accurately, capturing changes and variations, and managing subcontractor accounts.
  • Procurement & Commercial Support: Assisting buyers with material procurement and supporting the wider QS team.
  • Project Administration: Managing orders, progress tracking, valuations, final accounts, and attending relevant meetings.

What We re Looking For
  • A strong background in Quantity Surveying, ideally within the rail or civil engineering sectors.
  • Experience with NEC contracts, including Z clauses.
  • A team player who enjoys problem-solving and working closely with clients.
  • Someone local who values building relationships and working collaboratively.
