Job description

We are working with a leading Tier 1 Main Contractor who are looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor to join their team on a full-time permanent basis.

Initially you will be working on a new build educational school and community development valued at just under circa £45m. This project will likely run for around two years, thereafter you will move onto new projects that have been awarded. You will report to the Managing Quantity Surveyor and work with a Graduate Quantity Surveyor, slowly developing your mentoring skills. This is a site-based role with some degree of flexibility.

What you'll need:

• A degree in Quantity Surveying or similar qualification
• Proven experience working with a recognised Main Contractor
• Have good working knowledge of contracts such as NEC, SBCC and JCT
• Be an excellent communicator, both written and verbal

Your duties will include:

• Managing costs and developing projects cost plans
• Carrying out commercial activities relating to projects
• Working with the Project Manager to ensure full understanding of all commercial matters
• Liaising with design and operational teams throughout the full project lifecycle
• Procurement of subcontractors
• Producing valuations and commercial reports, as well as identifying variations
