Job summary

Energy Jobline CVL is seeking a Quantity Surveyor for a site-based role in South Yorkshire. You will work closely with the commercial and site teams in a friendly environment and contribute to commercial, industrial, retail projects.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of Quantity Surveying experience, with a degree or HNC/HND in QS and strong negotiation and communication skills. A driving license is preferred and opportunities for growth exist.

Qualifications

• Degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying or related field.
• 3–5 years experience in a Quantity Surveyor role within commercial/construction sectors.
• Proven ability to work with clients, PMs and suppliers.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Graduate to manage own projects and contribute to team efforts.
• Regular liaising with clients, project managers and suppliers to maintain clear communication.
• Monitor costs, prepare estimates and manage changes on site.
• Ensure compliance with construction regulations and standards.
• Maintain accurate administration and reporting.

Job description

Due to ongoing growth, our client is looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join their business. Based in South Yorkshire they specialise inundertaking Commercial, Industrial, Retail projects for clients in the public and private sectors including newbuild, extensions, and refurbishment work.

Based on site you will work closely with the wider commercial and Site teams in a friendly collegiate atmosphere. Our client is looking for someone who can grow with the role, is tech savvy, and has the skills and knowledge that come with experience in the commercial construction sector ideally with a main contractor.

Skills and Aptitude:

Strong communication and listening skills, with good negotiation skills.

Highly motivated to deliver quality developments.

Ability to manage your own projects as well as part of a team.

Excellent attention to detail and demonstrates the ability to meet deadlines.

IT literate and the ability to adapt to new systems.

Good administration skills.

Regularly liaise with clients, Project Manager,and suppliers to maintain clear communication throughout the project.

Requirements:

HNC/HND or degree inQuantitySurveying or a related field.

3 to 5 years of experience (Ideal)

Proven experience in aQuantitySurveyorrole, ideally within commercial construction or residential

Knowledge of construction regulations and standards.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Strong communication and negotiation abilities.

Proficiency in construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Valid driving license.
